Advent Service and Charity – Community Support Across Multiple Locations

2025. December 23.

The Advent season is a time of quiet preparation and the lived experience of charity. For the Southern Transylvanian Grand Priory of the Order of Saint George, this period once again provided an opportunity to express the values of chivalric service through concrete actions.

In the lead-up to Christmas, support was provided in several locations and communities, reaffirming the Order’s commitment: when needed, our community is both willing and able to act.

Zetelaka (Zetea) – Dr. P. Boros Fortunát Day Care Center

Children of the day care center in Zetelaka (Zetea), operated by the Saint Francis Foundation of Deva, received Christmas gift packages.
The packages were personally delivered by Grand Prior Levente Bíró, bringing joy and heartfelt moments to the children during the festive season.

Upper Three Seats Region – Kézdiszék

The Kézdiszék Priory organized its first independent charity initiative, supporting large families and elderly individuals.

The initiative, launched by Knight Imre Vass, reached communities from Kézdivásárhely (Târgu Secuiesc) to Ojtoz (Oituz).
The donated packages included essential food items, sweets, books, and clothing for families with many children.

The long-term goal is to establish this initiative as a regular charitable program.

“Christmas in Transcarpathia (Kárpátalja)” – Community Solidarity

The Southern Transylvanian Grand Priory also joined the Order of Saint George’s “Christmas in Transcarpathia for the Hungarian community in Kárpátalja” humanitarian initiative.

Through the donations of our local members, a total of 5,500 RON (approximately 1100 EUR) was collected and delivered—via the Visegrád headquarters—to the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia.

The Quiet Strength of Service

We extend our sincere gratitude to all members for their generous contributions.

The initiatives carried out during Advent reaffirm that the chivalric ideal is not merely a concept, but a living practice.
These quiet yet sincere acts give true meaning to Christmas.
